Chapter 23: I'm the Crazy One

Chapter 23: I'm the Crazy One

Directly ask him?

She hadn't thought of it before.

Upon reflection, there was one question she could ask him directly.

"Madman," South Phoenix called.

"Hmm?"

"What's your name?" South Phoenix asked.

Yang Bo, not far away, looked at South Phoenix with surprise.

And on this side, Lord Rong Five, upon hearing South Phoenix's question, his lips curled slightly.

"So, little one, you spent a whole day in the study, searching for my name, huh? You've been thinking about it all day?" He appeared somewhat pleased with himself. "You've been thinking about it?"

"...Why is he so smug?"

Lord Rong Five sat up straight and leaned in. "However, I can't tell you my name just yet."

After saying that, he raised an eyebrow.

This way, this little one would have to spend even more time thinking about it.

"..."

South Phoenix was speechless. Why would anyone hide their name?

She poked at her food angrily.

"Are you angry?" Lord Rong Five asked.

"You asked me, and you won't answer," South Phoenix replied.

Lord Rong Five thought for a moment and realized she had a point. "You're right. You can investigate that on your own. I can tell you about other things."

The term "madman" seemed to be working well. Who would spend the whole day looking for his name? Overindulgence in salt? Idleness?

Satisfied with this, South Phoenix's pent-up frustration subsided.

She smiled and accepted the situation.

With a snap, the phone call ended. South Phoenix had a feeling that Lord Rong Five might throw his phone in frustration.

She picked up her phone, got up, and went to the bathroom.

Lord Rong Five was mad and borderline insane, but luckily he hadn't completely lost his mind, and there were no surveillance cameras in the bathroom.

In the bathroom, she sat on the toilet, and her phone still displayed the live broadcast of a Go game. She had set up the live stream to show the Go game continuously, while she had switched to another web page in the background.

She hadn't thought about contacting anyone for help. Who could withstand Lord Rong Five's wrath after rescuing her? She couldn't contact Bo Shen, as she had to finish her divorce proceedings with him, and she wasn't close to him.

So, while South Phoenix had a plan to escape, she had no intention of seeking help.

She logged into a website and used it to access another website, hopping between different platforms, and finally wrote a piece of code that allowed her to enter the website she wanted.

"Done."

This was an international technology website known only to insiders.

This website regularly posted various technology bounty tasks, ranging from cheap ones worth tens of thousands to valuable ones worth millions.

Many hacking and tech experts would log in to the website to accept advanced tasks.

Although South Phoenix had a secret account with several billion dollars, she didn't want to use it now.

She didn't want to log into that account or use the money inside.

So, she needed to earn money now.

South Phoenix logged into her tech account, "Phoenix Sky," and it lit up immediately.

This account hadn't been logged into for a year, and she glanced at the countless private messages in the background, many of which were long overdue.

Ignoring all of them, she went directly to the task page.

There were many tasks, each with varying levels of difficulty and completion times.

South Phoenix quickly browsed and accepted six simple tasks that could be completed quickly.

Quick completion.

The time for a large account to squat should be about half an hour.

After completing the six tasks, she checked the time on her phone, and it had been just over half an hour.

She hung up her phone, flushed the toilet, and left the bathroom.

On her way back, the Go game on her phone hadn't stopped, so it didn't look like she had done anything else in the bathroom.

This half-hour's earnings should all arrive within a day, and the six tasks would add up to over a million.

Once she had earned enough capital, she would directly invest in the capital market. She didn't need to use much brainpower; she would just follow what Lord Rong Five was investing in and make a profit.

Perfect.

South Phoenix's lips curled up, and she felt even more delighted.

Time passed, and it was already 7 p.m. South Phoenix hadn't eaten much for lunch, and her stomach was growling.

She asked Mrs. Tian, "Mrs. Tian, are we not having dinner tonight?"

Mrs. Tian hurriedly said, "Miss, would you like to have a light snack first? Lord Rong Five will be back soon."

"You mean Lord Rong Five wants to have dinner with me?" South Phoenix asked.

Mrs. Tian nodded. "Yes, Miss. Lord Rong Five ordered the kitchen to prepare the dinner."

Just as they were talking, several cars lit up in the courtyard of the estate. South Phoenix looked up and saw several cars driving into the estate.

The cars stopped, and the men inside got out.

The man had a tall and imposing figure, with long legs that made his stride look particularly powerful.

He had his sleeves loosened, and then he turned and saw South Phoenix inside the villa.

South Phoenix was startled at his glance.

Could it be that the phone call from earlier had been hours ago, and now he was here to settle scores with her?

The man walked into the villa, his footsteps heavy, and South Phoenix's heart sank.

His presence was overwhelming.

He addressed South Phoenix, "Hungry?"

South Phoenix nervously put on a brave face. "Not really, I can skip dinner to lose weight."

"You? Lose weight?" The man raised an eyebrow.

"Come over, sit."

South Phoenix sat opposite Lord Rong Five, and the table was soon filled with seven dishes and a soup.

South Phoenix raised an eyebrow. "So many dishes, is someone else coming?"

"Just the two of us." Lord Rong Five said as he pushed a plate of black pepper chicken thighs towards her.

South Phoenix looked at the black pepper chicken thigh and hesitated for a moment.

Lord Rong Five noticed and asked, "Don't you like it?"

"It's not that."

She used to eat this dish often when she was younger. But at some point, she stopped eating it.

Seeing this dish suddenly in front of her brought back some unexpected memories.

She picked up a piece of chicken thigh, but her throat felt tight.

She put the chicken thigh back down and chose to eat something else.

Lord Rong Five saw this but didn't say anything.

"Do you want to know something? I can tell you directly. These news reports are too shallow and outdated."

South Phoenix sat upright and gave Lord Rong Five a sideways glance.

She had no interest in asking him about economic news.

She didn't want to give him the satisfaction of answering her questions.

Thinking about the fact that she was currently a stand-in for Lord Rong Five's "White Moonlight" and how she had to act like his lover, she deliberately asked a question that suited her role, "I don't know what your White Moonlight looks like. Do I look like her when I'm dressed like this?"

Lord Rong Five's dark eyes grew deeper in that moment.

South Phoenix continued with

a serious tone, "I don't know her, I haven't seen her. I don't know if I look like her, but since I have to be your White Moonlight's stand-in, let's treat it as a job. Since it's work, shouldn't there be reasonable compensation?"

"Are you short of money?" Lord Rong Five asked.

"Yes."

Lord Rong Five glanced at her and then looked at Yang Bo. Yang Bo started, then left the room and returned shortly with a black card with a gold border.

Lord Rong Five took the card and placed it on the coffee table in front of her, pushing it towards her.

"It's for you. No password." Lord Rong Five looked at her face.

South Phoenix felt as though she was choking on blood.

She couldn't go out anyway, so what use was a card for her? This card was obviously closely tied to Lord Rong Five and would show his transactions with just a small amount of money. It was meaningless to her.

Clearly displeased, she still accepted the card.

When she finally got a chance to go out, she would transfer a bunch of properties and cars to her name. She would show them. They wanted her to act as White Moonlight, but they wouldn't even pay her a single penny. Well, she'd show them by swiping the card.

That night, after taking a shower, South Phoenix lay in bed and hadn't fallen asleep yet. Lord Rong Five, who had already taken a shower, walked into her room.

South Phoenix tightened her sheets.

Whether it was the original South Phoenix or the South Phoenix who had lived in this body for over twenty years, neither had ever shared a bed with a man.

Even though the original South Phoenix had married Bo Shen, they had never slept together.

She hadn't expected to be forced to sleep in the same bed as a man.

Last night, she had been half-asleep, so she hadn't paid much attention. Tonight, she was completely awake.

She knew that there were hundreds of people outside the door, including female and male servants and bodyguards.

She knew that she was at a disadvantage.

But if he dared to touch her...

She would kill him.

The man got into the bed, and the bed sank heavily, causing South Phoenix's heart to sink as well.

The man's presence was overwhelming, and his breath was suffocating.

He pulled her slender body close to his chest.

South Phoenix's muscles tensed, and she was on edge.

He got closer, very close, close to her ear, and whispered softly, "You're so nervous?"

"..."

"Sleep, I won't touch you tonight."

She couldn't entirely trust his words, especially when he held her so tightly, with an intimidating presence behind her.

But she also wasn't foolish enough to keep herself tense all night.

If he really made a move, she would fight back with all her strength.

Thinking of this, South Phoenix gradually relaxed and closed her eyes.

Just before drifting off to sleep, she suddenly remembered something.

She wasn't entirely inexperienced when it came to sharing a bed with a man.

After all, there was that one time when she was ten years old...

Why had that happened?

Right, because the boy was often unable to sleep well, and he was often shivering in the middle of the night, so she held him and sang him lullabies. She would also stroke his head and pat his back.

He was obedient, lying there without moving, until he was lulled to sleep by her.

The boy was so thin and frail, completely dependent on her.

She remembered that there were a few times when he thought she was asleep. He would open his eyes cautiously, then gently slide his arm under her neck and lift her up carefully.

Then, he would softly call her name, "Nan Huang..."

...

In her drowsy state, South Phoenix fell asleep.

In her dream, she was wearing a black dress and had a crazed smile on her face.

"Miss, Miss, she's attacking people again!"

"Shh, keep your voice down, or Miss will take our lives!"

"Madwoman, Miss is a madwoman!"

"It's terrifying, how can someone like Miss from the South family be like this?"

South Phoenix smiled recklessly and happily as she watched a young man covered in blood emerge from a sea of blood.

The young man's eyes were too deep, as if they could completely absorb a person.

No one dared to look into his eyes; it was as if looking into his eyes would allow him to control them at will.

But South Phoenix dared.

"Madman, they're calling me a madman!" South Phoenix laughed and laughed, looking pained at times. She raised her painfully thin hand and covered her disheveled face.

"Feng, they all stay away from me, you should too."

"Master, you've misunderstood." The young man walked towards her and gently pulled her into his lean arms.

"I'm the mad one. I'm the crazy one."
