Chapter 29: Mr. Rong Accompanies Nanhuang for Divorce
Mr. Rong's voice sounded cheerful. "Yang Bo, go and help Xu Qun divide the money with him. I want to go get a divorce with Miss."
Yang Bo was speechless. Mr. Rong, your words are quite ambiguous, and you're acting so happy, is that appropriate?
"Wait a minute!" Xie Yu said.
Everyone turned their attention to Xie Yu.
Xie Yu walked towards Ye Guangda, who felt uneasy. He looked left and right, glancing at Li Yiliu, then at Ye Xinyao.
Xie Yu said, "Let's go, we'll go over with our daughter and get the divorce done."
Ye Guangda couldn't accept this. He immediately said, "Who wants a divorce?"
Xie Yu sneered, "Yes, who caused us to go through the gates of hell today? Where's the five million I gave you? What happened to it?"
"I... I..."
"You had an affair during our marriage, kept a mistress for over twenty years, and even gave my money to your mistress, right?" Xie Yu looked at Ye Guangda with disgust. "There's nothing more to say."
Ye Guangda was genuinely guilty, but he also genuinely didn't want a divorce. He immediately knelt down and said, "I don't want a divorce, Xie Yu. I never wanted to hurt you. We've had over twenty years of relationship, you know, I really love you."
"Love?" Xie Yu sneered. "Your love is so cheap."
"I just... made a mistake once. Can't you forgive me?"
"Quit beating around the bush, divorce shouldn't be so ugly."
Ye Guangda stood up, wearing an ugly expression, and threatened, "Xie Yu, you can't divorce me, I don't agree! If you insist on getting a divorce, I won't give you a penny of our family's assets!"
Xie Yu laughed. "I don't care about your assets. I want to leave this marriage with nothing today!"
"You!"
Li Yiliu and Ye Xinyao watched the two of them argue quietly.
Li Yiliu felt nauseated when she saw Nanhuang and her daughter come out of the fire unharmed. She had no worry in her heart when Ding Shi didn't come out, thinking that someone had to die today.
Now, hearing that Xie Yu wanted to leave the marriage with nothing, Li Yiliu was even more excited. Xie Yu and Ye Guangda's divorce, followed by her leaving with nothing, was exactly what Li Yiliu had hoped for. In her mind, hope was reignited.
On Nanhuang's side, Bao Shen brought up the same topic.
"Are you really going to divorce me?" Bao Shen asked.
Nanhuang turned to look at Bao Shen. "Haven't we already agreed on this? The divorce agreement has been signed. If you don't cooperate, I'll have to go through the legal process. We must divorce; it's just a bit troublesome."
Bao Shen looked at her with pleading eyes. "Ye Nanhuang, why are you suddenly so heartless? No lingering feelings at all? Do you really not love me anymore? Not even a bit?"
Nanhuang couldn't help but sneer. "Where did you get the idea that I have any love for you?"
The original host, who once loved Bao Shen, had been driven to her death by him.
Bao Shen looked at Mu Yun, who was standing behind her, and his lips tightened, showing intense unwillingness.
"It has nothing to do with him," Nanhuang said impatiently.
Unbeknownst to her, after saying those five words, her companion, Mr. Rong, had been visibly suppressing his anger.
"As a man, can't you just make a clean break? Let's get a divorce, and we'll each go our separate ways. If you want to find Mu Yun and marry her, I won't interfere."
Bao Shen stammered, "I and Mu Yun... it's not what you think... I mean, Mu Yun saved my life five years ago in a fire. I can't abandon her."
Nanhuang recalled the diary's contents and raised an eyebrow, puzzled. Then she looked at Bao Shen. "Five years ago, in a fire? Huh, I used to think you were just scum, but now it seems you're not just scum, you're also foolish."
Bao Shen felt that Nanhuang was really leaving him. He made a final effort to hold her back. "I've been thinking lately, thinking about the relationships between us. I've realized that the person I love is you, really you. I can't live without you, wife, give me one more chance..."
Before Bao Shen could finish speaking, Mr. Rong's fist swung directly at him, and the blow left Bao Shen seeing stars.
Mr. Rong angrily said, "Who are you shouting for?"
Nanhuang looked at Bao Shen, delivered one final blow, and said, "You, I find you dirty."
Bao Shen was left speechless, his mouth wide open, overwhelmed by emotions—sadness, helplessness, guilt, regret...
"Let's go. I'm leaving with nothing. We're getting a divorce," Nanhuang said, then turned and got into Mr. Rong's car.
Mr. Rong was about to whistle happily but then turned to glance at Bao Shen. "You didn't even come here. You're just a coward."
Bao Shen trembled.
Mr. Rong happily sat in the driver's seat, while Nanhuang glanced at him. She wondered why he was so happy. Even though she didn't understand why, she hoped he wouldn't pursue her escape incident too harshly.
However, just as she thought this, Mr. Rong's voice, filled with a hint of pleasure, reached her ears.
"Little thing, if you have the guts to run away, you should have the guts to face the consequences. I'll give you some face outside. Our matters will be settled behind closed doors when we get home."
"..." Nanhuang suddenly felt like pretending to be dead and not speaking.
However, Mr. Rong was quite powerful, and if he insisted, she wouldn't have much choice.
Plus, he had just saved her life, so she felt a bit soft-hearted.
Thinking about this, she looked at his arm.
"Your arm..."
Nanhuang was about to roll up his sleeve to examine his arm.
"Don't worry," Mr. Rong moved his hand away.
Nanhuang got angry and shouted, "Don't move!"
Mr. Rong was taken aback and asked, "Little thing, are you scolding me?"
Nanhuang took the opportunity to grab his hand, and when she looked, it was swollen and red.
She gently pressed it, and Mr. Rong's face turned slightly pale.
Nanhuang furrowed her brows. "It's broken."
"It's fine."
"Let's go
to the hospital."
"It's fine!"
"Listen to me or not?"
Mr. Rong paused.
What's wrong with this woman, speaking to him like that?
Mr. Rong said impatiently, "Divorce! Let's get divorced first, and then we'll go to the hospital together."
Nanhuang also paused and said, "You talk as if we're getting divorced together."
Mr. Rong was stunned and said sheepishly, "Well, we're not even married yet."
