Chapter 40: Natural Hot Spring

 Chapter 40: Natural Hot Spring

In the car, the constant ringing of Mr. Rong's phone was starting to irritate him. He seemed ready to turn it off, and South Phoenix gave him a disdainful glance. "Why are you turning off your phone when someone is trying to reach you?"

"I don't have time to answer."

South Phoenix glanced around and thought, not have time? After a moment, Mr. Rong asked a rather inexplicable question, "Do you spend the money I earn?"

"...?" She really didn't know how to respond to this question.

"If you spend it, I'll answer the phone."

"...?" What did that have to do with her?

"Fine, I'll spend it," South Phoenix replied with an uncomprehending look.

"Good, you spend it."

South Phoenix was puzzled by his response.

Did she say something to indicate that she wouldn't spend it? Mr. Rong finally settled into his seat, pulled out his phone, and placed it next to his ear. His expression immediately changed.

Focused, attentive, sharp, and with a touch of the dominance and wisdom of an adult male.

"Now you have three minutes."

South Phoenix turned her head to look at him with a deep, meaningful gaze. Each time he was serious, he would habitually furrow his brow slightly, not very noticeable, but quite striking.

It was captivating.

With that in mind, she quickly turned back to look out the window.

Sighing, she calmed her inexplicable emotions and took out her phone to start live streaming a game of chess.

She used her streaming account sporadically, playing games or chess occasionally. After using it a few times, her account had gained some popularity, with several hundred viewers at times.

Now she logged into her Go account and searched for an opponent.

It didn't take long for a prompt to appear on her phone screen.

Notification: Black-Hearted Tianya, a professional 5-dan Go player, invites you to a match. Do you accept?

Below were options for YES and NO.

Without even checking the opponent's username or any details, South Phoenix immediately clicked YES.

Mr. Rong was busy on the phone, dealing with his affairs, so she started playing the game of Go with full concentration.

At first, she played casually, but as she reached the entrance of the vineyard, she began to focus intensely on the game.

Eating! Counting the moves.

She won. She won with a lead of one and a half points.

South Phoenix let out a sigh of relief, but she still hadn't looked at her opponent's rank. In fact, she hadn't even checked her own streaming channel.

Little did she know that this afternoon's game had caused a sensation in the Go community!

Word quickly spread that a player called "Phoenix Tian" had played a game against a professional Go player and won by a half-point lead. National Go players were bewildered and began to criticize and analyze the game.

Then, Go professionals started joining the livestream. Some only watched a portion, but they could still complete a full analysis of the entire match.

And then, it exploded!

Who was this Phoenix Tian, and why was she so audacious to defeat a professional Go player, even though it was just by half a point? Even top-level 9-dan Go players had to take such games seriously.

In a short time, numerous professional Go players sent friend requests to her Go account. Some Go fans recognized her streaming account and began to share the Go match as well as her Go account.

Before long, her account, without her knowledge, began to gain a massive number of followers.

South Phoenix, having finished her run, her body drenched in sweat, was now itching to soak in a hot spring. However, she was wearing her sportswear, and she hadn't brought any suitable clothing for hot springs.

She bit her thumb, her face showing a conflicted expression.

Oh well, the hot spring wouldn't disappear. She could come back later after preparing herself.

With that in mind, she turned and ran back to the vineyard villa.

It was approaching dinnertime, and after dealing with some of the pressing matters, Mr. Rong left his study. He stretched his sleeves and collar to let in some fresh air. In an instant, the dignified Mr. Rong transformed back into the relaxed and carefree man he had been earlier.

"Where's Miss?"

One of the bodyguards replied, "Miss is out for a run."

"Running around the estate?" Mr. Rong asked.

"Yes, but we couldn't keep up with Miss; we lost her."

The bodyguards lowered their heads, expecting to face Mr. Rong's anger.

However, to their surprise, he chuckled lightly. "If she wants to run, you guys wouldn't be able to catch her anyway."

With a smile, he went upstairs and looked down from the second-floor corridor. It was at this moment that South Phoenix, drenched in sweat after her run, entered the villa.

Her body glistened with sweat, every strand of hair was moist, her cheeks were slightly flushed, and she exuded the healthy aura of a young girl.

"Oh, Miss!" Mrs. Tian quickly handed her a large towel.

"Mrs. Tian, I'm going to take a shower in my room," South Phoenix said.

She looked up and happened to meet Mr. Rong's gaze, who was standing by the stairs.

She went upstairs, passing by him without a word, and headed to her room to shower and change into fresh clothes.
