Chapter 50: Who is Phoenix Sky?
With the money in hand, Nan Huang began thinking about her investments.
The morning seemed normal, and the folding screen was in its usual place in the bedroom.
Nan Huang got out of bed, freshened up, and changed her clothes. She then hurriedly left the hot spring villa.
It was the weekend, so she had the option of going to school or not.
Rong Wuye appeared to be incredibly busy. He had left early in the morning without having a proper breakfast, heading straight to the company.
His absence provided Nan Huang with an opportunity. She took the estate's tour bus back to the villa, and without delay, she headed to Rong Wuye's study.
One advantage of not going to school was that she didn't have to deal with three phone calls and twenty text messages. However, there was a downside - surveillance cameras were everywhere in the villa, including Rong Wuye's study.
But Rong Wuye had recently been preoccupied with a troublesome matter and seemed to have found a solution. He was probably too busy to constantly monitor the surveillance feeds, Nan Huang thought.
If she wanted to invest alongside Rong Wuye, she needed to find out what he was currently investing in. His study should contain information about his recent investments.
So, she boldly entered Rong Wuye's study and began examining his computer, the documents on his desk, and the books on his shelves.
Finally, she focused on a parchment document.
The parchment document happened to be an investment proposal. It had been finalized recently and had an official seal at the end.
"Alright, this one's a go!" Nan Huang decided after reviewing the proposal.
Nan Huang pulled out her phone and, out of sight of the surveillance cameras, accessed the international technology network through a secure connection.
She then contacted a former "fanboy" of hers, someone who had helped her with errands before.
Phoenix Sky: I'm transferring you some money, just like before. Please help me with an investment.
Phoenix Sky: Alright, great master! Should I use the same account as last time?
Phoenix Sky: No, for this new transaction, I'll provide you with a different account.
Phoenix Sky: Understood, great master!
About a year ago, she had asked this fanboy to run errands for her. Back then, she had used her own account for the transfers. However, that account was no longer usable, so she had to set up a new virtual account to handle transactions temporarily.
Her reputation was quite significant on the international technology network, and she had many loyal fans. People like "Yang" were just one of many admirers, far from being her trusted underlings.
Speaking of "Yang," though, the person behind him seemed to have deep pockets. A case worth five billion, and "Yang" himself might have the potential for business.
Nan Huang thought, should she consider developing him and making him one of her underlings? She could just pay him a salary.
It was something worth considering.
At this moment, her fanboy sent another message.
Fanboy: Great master, the person with the last name Song that you mentioned last time, he called me.
Fanboy: He wants to meet you this afternoon. Do you have time?
Song, the heir?
Nan Huang checked her phone's current time and replied: Sure, arrange a meeting with him and confirm the time and place.
Fanboy: Alright, great master!
Nan Huang sat up and went downstairs to have lunch. While eating, she sent a message to Rong Wuye.
Nan Huang: The hot spring villa is quite nice. I slept soundly last night, but for some reason, my back hurts a bit in the morning, like I was pressed by something.
At the Rong Corporation's meeting, Rong Wuye saw her message and raised an eyebrow.
After a moment of guilt, he immediately shifted his focus and replied.
Rong Wuye: Sending messages? Are you going out?
Does she have to go out just to send messages?
While munching on pumpkin, Nan Huang thought to herself that Rong Wuye was quite perceptive.
If she stayed home all day, she wouldn't need to send messages. So, sending a message obviously meant she was going out.
Nan Huang: Yes.
Rong Wuye: Where are you going?
Nan Huang: Can I have some privacy?
Rong Wuye: You want privacy?
Nan Huang was speechless. Fine, if he wanted to investigate thoroughly, she would conduct her covert operations.
However, Rong Wuye sent another message at this moment.
Rong Wuye: Do you think you can have privacy?
Rong Wuye: Little brat.
Rong Wuye: In the study, there's a drawer with car keys. You know which drawer it is. Choose any set of keys and pick up the car from the backyard.
Rong Wuye: You must be back before 5 o'clock. If I can't see you on the surveillance, you'll be in trouble.
Threatening her, huh?
Well, she wasn't afraid of him!
Nan Huang went to the study, opened drawer after drawer, and found car keys. She chose the most simple and modest-looking set of keys, one made of brass.
Then, she logged into the international technology network, accessed her secret corner hidden from surveillance cameras, and contacted her fanboy to confirm the time and place for the meeting.
At this moment, she saw that besides her fanboy, "Yang" was also online.
Thinking about her complaint to him last night about her "guardian," Nan Huang suddenly felt the urge to vent.
Opening a chat window, Nan Huang sent a message to "Yang" to express her frustration.
Phoenix Sky: These days, parents are really troublesome. They monitor your every move, ask you where you're going, and pester you with questions.
Well, sharing her frustrations did make her feel better.
On the other side of the screen, Rong Wuye, who was in a meeting at the Rong Corporation, saw "Yang's" chat box light up briefly and was shocked. Then, he read the message and became even more alarmed.
In a single night, had his boss, using his account, become friendly with their great master, Phoenix Sky?
What a complicated turn of events!
While Rong Wuye was still processing this, he noticed a pop-up message on his computer screen.
Since this meeting had only a few participants, all of whom were core members of the company, the international technology network had been projected onto a large screen.
Yang Bo saw the message from the great master, Phoenix Sky, and was equally astonished. Then, he saw the complaint about overbearing parents and felt the need to respond.
Yang: Nowadays, parents can be quite troublesome. They monitor your every move, ask where you're going, and nag you with endless questions.
Well, Yang Bo's response was much more casual.
Rong Wuye raised an eyebrow. "It seems that Phoenix Sky is a man of integrity."
Yang Bo chimed in, "Absolutely, my great master."
Rong Wuye shook his head at his overly enthusiastic subordinate and typed a response to Phoenix Sky.
Yang: Where are you planning to go?
Yang Bo eagerly raised his hand.
Rong Wuye said, "Go ahead."
Yang
Bo said, "Five Lord, your response wasn't quite right; it was too formal. Here's how I would say it: 'Great master, where are you going?'"
Rong Wuye suddenly didn't want to reply anymore.
Yang Bo added, "Five Lord, you shouldn't underestimate the different nuances in these expressions."
Rong Wuye tossed an eraser at Yang Bo's head.
Phoenix Sky: I'm going to meet a friend and help them with some problems.
Phoenix Sky: What do you think it takes to get your parents off your back?
Rong Wuye thought to himself, Phoenix Sky seems to be a loyal person.
Yang Bo commented, "It's a must, my great master."
Rong Wuye replied, "Phoenix Sky seems to be a loyal person."
Yang Bo said, "Five Lord, you replied incorrectly again. It's too formal. I would say, 'Phoenix Sky, it should be quite achievable with your abilities.'"
Rong Wuye cast a sidelong glance at Yang Bo, who was torn between the Rong Corporation and his great master.
Yang Bo continued, "Phoenix Sky, should I go ahead with this?"
This time, Rong Wuye didn't feel like responding.
Phoenix Sky: With your abilities, I think it should be quite achievable.
Phoenix Sky: I have another question for you.
Phoenix Sky: Do you think Project U is worth investing in?
