Chapter 61: Rong Wuye's Tantrum

 Chapter 61: Rong Wuye's Tantrum

In the rustic study of the Grape Manor, an extraordinarily handsome man stared at a painting hanging on the wall for quite some time.

In this painting titled "The Cliff," there were distinct shoeprints in the corner, with traces of dragging.

Had she been injured?

Had she suffered injuries?

What had really happened at that time?

Rong Wuye's expression deepened, and he made a call to Yang Bo.

"Five Lord," Yang Bo answered.

"Find something out for me."

The man explained the situation over the phone, and Yang Bo took note of it.

Then the man continued, "Gather a few people at the company to work overtime. I have some free time today."

Yang Bo was shocked and somewhat speechless. "Five Lord, is this really necessary? We handled the Go Club matter well last night, didn't we? Those who needed to be caught are surely unable to escape punishment. Did something unexpected happen? Five Lord, are you in a bad mood due to unfulfilled desires?"

The man flicked some ash from his cigarette and spoke with deep eyes. "Yang Bo, maybe you should keep quiet."

Yang Bo chuckled awkwardly and asked, "Five Lord, has Miss Nan returned to the estate?"

"No," he replied, his tone indicating indifference.

"Do I need to arrange anything over here then?"

The man's tone turned unfriendly. "You don't need to do anything. She can do whatever she wants. Why should I interfere with her?"

Yang Bo sensed that Rong Wuye was clearly throwing a tantrum. Something must have happened. Yang Bo asked, "Are you sure there's nothing to be done?"

"Nothing."

"Alright, then. I'll arrange for the senior executives at the company to discuss the upcoming projects. We'll meet at the office in half an hour."

"Wait."

"Five Lord?"

Rong Wuye hesitated for a moment and then said, "Arrange for two capable individuals to secretly protect her."

"Protect whom?" Yang Bo asked playfully.

"Must I teach you who to protect? Protect my woman, Miss Nan!"

...

Nan Huang left the house.

She hailed a taxi and headed to the suburban West City landfill.

While she wasn't skilled in capital operations, it didn't mean she couldn't start a business. With a landfill as the cornerstone, her future endeavors would be more manageable.

She realized that she led a labor-intensive life. She couldn't manage money-making endeavors like investments. Whether it was starting a business or taking orders, each step required her to earn money bit by bit through hard work.

It was exhausting.

After an hour-long drive, Nan Huang arrived at the West City landfill. When she got out of the car, Xu Qun and Xie Yu came down from the office building to welcome her.

"Nan Huang!" Xie Yu was delighted to see her, and Nan Huang also felt a strong sense of familiarity. The two of them shared a hug.

"Miss, young miss, please come upstairs," Xu Qun, who had gradually abandoned her crutches, said with a smile.

Xu Qun led Nan Huang and her mother to the second floor. The landfill's office area was quite simple, consisting of cylindrical structures. Nan Huang had been here once before.

While walking down the corridor on the second floor, Nan Huang saw a few young children. They were dressed in shabby clothes and appeared to be living in one of the cylindrical buildings.

When she saw these children, they, too, curiously and nervously observed her through the windows.

"Are there three more children in this building?" Nan Huang asked with a hint of curiosity when she looked at Xu Qun and Xie Yu.

After guiding Nan Huang to the office, Xu Qun said with a smile, "Nan Huang, we know what you're going to ask. These three children were found in the landfill, picking up food from the trash when we found them."

Nan Huang inquired, "Couldn't you find their families?"

Xu Qun and Xie Yu exchanged glances, and Xie Yu explained, "We've learned their backgrounds. They don't have families."

"No families?" Nan Huang asked. "Why not send them to an orphanage?"

Xu Qun explained, "It's like this. These three children were originally from an orphanage, but the people who adopted them turned out to be abusive. They escaped from their adoptive parents not long ago. They had nowhere to go and were hungry, so they came here to scavenge."

Xu Qun sighed and continued, "When we first found them, they had numerous injuries from the abuse, especially the oldest boy. He had suffered the most."

Nan Huang frowned.

Child abuse.

When she was younger, she had been targeted by the South Family from top to bottom.

Nan Huang was particularly sensitive to child abuse.

She lowered her gaze and looked at Xu Qun, maintaining her usual demeanor. "Uncle Xu, are you planning to adopt them?"

Xu Qun touched his cup. "Life is so short, and there's not much we can do. I did think about helping them."

Nan Huang sensed that the three children were eavesdropping from outside.

Nan Huang shifted her gaze and asked, "Is it your intention to adopt them, Uncle Xu?"

Xu Qun raised his head. "I didn't say I'd adopt them."

Nan Huang made an uncertain sound.

Xie Yu smiled and said, "It's me who wants to adopt them. Since you're here today, I wanted to ask for your opinion. After all, if I adopt them, you'll gain three more little brothers."

It was Xie Yu who wanted to adopt them? And she would have three more little brothers?

Nan Huang suddenly regretted not looking at them more closely earlier.

Xu Qun added, "These three boys are the oldest at 17, the middle one is 15, and the youngest is 14. If you agree, I'll help them with their paperwork."

Given Nan Huang's personality and the likelihood of her traveling all over the place in the future, she might not have much time to accompany Xie Yu. However, if Xie Yu adopted a few children, it could work out well.

"I have no objections," Nan Huang said with a smile.

She could afford to support a few more people.

Both Xu Qun and Xie Yu smiled.

Xu Qun opened the door, and the three boys who had been eavesdropping rushed in.

Xu Qun smiled at Nan Huang and said, "Come in, and call her 'big sister.'"

Awkwardly, the three boys crawled to the floor and, with blushing faces, quickly stood up together in a corner.

Xu Qun chuckled and told Nan Huang, "These kids are a bit shy."

"That's okay," Nan Huang said with a light smile.

Xie Yu added, "Nan Huang, you came here today to inspect the landfill's operations, right? The landfill's operations are going well, and the income is decent. I'll have Uncle Xu provide you with a financial report later. There's one more thing—my family told me that Xie Ziran has met you. After hearing that, my grandfather also expressed a desire to meet you. Would you like to visit the Xie family?"

N

an Huang smiled and replied, "Sure, I have some free time today. Why don't we go there now?"

Xie Yu smiled and said, "You go ahead; I won't be going."

Nan Huang was puzzled. "Mom, why aren't you coming?"

In her diary, there was indeed mention of her maternal grandfather's family being relatively well-off. When she got married, Xie Yu had brought a considerable amount of assets with her. However, afterward, the mother and daughter had had little to do with the Xie family.
