Nan Huan smiled, "It's not too bad, I'm just feeling sentimental."
Her appearance made him feel a pang of heartache.
Rong Wuye reached out and gently ruffled her hair.
Nan Huan looked up at him.
Rong Wuye smiled, his lips curving upwards.
Just then, Xu Qun walked upstairs and said, "You're all here. It's quite windy outside, come inside and sit down."
The group entered the modest office, and Xu Qun poured them some hot water. She then said with a smile, "Nan Huan, thanks to you, my knees have been much better since you prescribed that medicine for me last time. I don't have any pain when walking now. Look, I don't even need a cane!"
Nan Huan smiled in response.
Xu Qun continued, "You know, a few days ago, I went to the hospital, and Dr. Zhang from the orthopedics department was shocked. He said he had never seen a meniscus grow back in his entire life! He said my knee meniscus was actually regenerating, and they might include me in medical wonders!"
Listening to Xu Qun's amusing story, Nan Huan couldn't help but laugh.
"Where's my mother?" Nan Huan asked.
"Xiao Yu went to the Xie family early in the morning," Xu Qun said with a smile. "These past two days, it seems like her relationship with the Xie family has improved. I overheard her mentioning that it was because you went to the Xie family."
"My mother went to the Xie family?" Nan Huan was both surprised and delighted. "Did she reconcile with my grandfather?"
"She did. Both father and daughter are stubborn and wouldn't back down. But your mother cried last night when she returned. Of course, it wasn't tears of anger or sadness," Xu Qun said with a smile. "It was probably regret. After all these years... Well, things have finally gotten better now."
For so many years, her mother had severed ties with her family because of Ye Guangda, and in return, Ye Guangda had given her a mistress named Li Yiliu and two children outside.
It was hard not to have mixed feelings about it.
Suddenly, there was noise coming from outside, and Xu Qun stood up and said, "Those three kids should be back."
"Those three kids?" Nan Huan asked.
"Your three younger brothers, have they returned from school?" Xu Qun said.
Nan Huan brought Rong Wuye to the window to watch as the three kids got out of a car below.
"These are the three younger brothers I mentioned to you earlier, Xie Wen, Xie Liang, and Xie Qian," Nan Huan said.
Rong Wuye commented, "They all look pretty good."
Nan Huan smiled.
Xu Qun called out from upstairs, "Come up here, your sister is back!"
The three kids looked up, saw Nan Huan and Rong Wuye, and simultaneously blushed.
Rong Wuye once again commented, "They all seem quite shy."
Little did Nan Huan and Rong Wuye know, in their eyes, these three kids looked handsome, and in the eyes of these three kids, this older brother and sister looked like heavenly beings, making them blush and feel happy.
After the three kids came upstairs, they shyly greeted Rong Wuye and Nan Huan.
"Big brother, big sister."
Nan Huan invited the three kids to sit down and inquired about their school life, one by one. Xie Liang and Xie Qian honestly shared their experiences, while Xie Wen, with a subtle nod, only said that everything was fine.
Nan Huan, however, sensed a trace of blood in the air. She immediately furrowed her brows and asked, "Xie Wen, did you get into a fight at school?"
Xie Wen hesitated for a moment, then reluctantly turned his head.
"I'm asking you a question, did you get into a fight at school?"
"I... sis..."
"Tell the truth!"
Xie Wen, hesitating in the process, finally replied, "Yes."
"Why?" Nan Huan continued to inquire.
Xie Wen pursed his lips and, after a moment of hesitation, answered, "Because he... bullied me."
"I... just arrived at the school, and he knocked over my lunchbox, tore my books, and stepped on my hand when I picked up my books..."
"So, you got into a fight because of this?"
Xie Wen felt that he must have done something wrong. He fought, and now his sister would probably dislike him.
He lowered his head slightly and said, "Yes."
Nan Huan leaned back in her chair, her expression changing. "You fought well."
Xie Wen looked at Nan Huan in surprise, only to see her looking radiant. "Did you win or lose?"
Xie Wen hesitated and, very carefully, replied, "I lost."
"You lost? You actually have the audacity to tell me after losing?!"
"..."
Nan Huan calmed down and asked, "Who bullied you?"
Xie Wen hesitated once more, then lifted his shirt to reveal his body, covered in bruises and bloodstains.
Now, Xu Qun's face turned pale. "You, kid, what did you do? Concealing such injuries can be dangerous! Come on, let me take you to the hospital!"
"No!" Nan Huan shouted.
Xu Qun was anxious. "Nan Huan, given his condition, not going to the hospital is dangerous!"
Nan Huan stood up and stared at her. "Since he wants to keep it a secret, he should bear the responsibility and consequences of hiding it. He doesn't need to go to the hospital. Stay here and reflect on what you did wrong!"
Xu Qun was extremely worried, and Xie Wen put down his shirt. Facing Nan Huan, he lowered his head sincerely. "Okay."
...
That night, Rong Wuye brought Nan Huan back to the Grape Manor.
While driving on the road, Nan Huan looked at Rong Wuye and asked, "A celebratory banquet? What's the occasion?"
"A celebration for our successful cooperation," Rong Wuye answered with a smile.
"A victory celebration?" Nan Huan was curious.
Rong Wuye turned to look at her with a hint of pride. "Of course, does President Nan not appreciate the gesture?"
In the eyes of others, she might be President Nan, but in his eyes, she was Nan Huan through and through.
Nan Huan chuckled, "Very well, I graciously accept."
On the way, Nan Huan received a message from Xie Ziran, which surprised her. "Ye Guangda is getting married to Li Yiliu?"
Rong Wuye turned his head to look at Nan Huan. "When did this happen?"
"Xie Ziran just sent me the message," Nan Huan replied. "Ye Guangda's wedding is scheduled for a week from now, right after the Tri-School Competition ends."
